5 creepiest clowns found across pop culture

Share what the Fox Says:

Clowns are hilarious. With their big red noses, giant feet and a maddening grin spread across their face. Did I say Hilarious, I meant absolutely terrifying. Perhaps one of life’s greatest mysteries is who in the world thought grown ass men with face paint and permanent grins across their faces were the ideal candidates to entertain children at birthday parties. And it’s not like pop culture has helped make them any less terrifying. Here are 5 clowns from across popular media that could give the boogeyman nightmares.

Pennywise (IT)

Let’s start with the most famous and perhaps the creepiest killer clown out there shall we. Pennywise the clown or as his friends call him ‘IT’ (not to be confused with cousin It from the Adams family whose just as creepy). ‘It’ appears as a middle aged man in a standard clown costume which in itself is quiet disturbing. But in reality ‘It’ is a demonic entity of pure evil with a soft spot for children. ‘It’ enjoys time spending with kids by giving them balloons, feeding them candy and ripping their arms off while laughing.

But hey maybe the 2017 movie reboot of the classic Stephen king novel will make old pennywise less creepy.

Or maybe not

Sweet tooth(Twisted Metal)

The twisted metal games were all the rage back in the day. It was a vehicular combat game in which super creepy characters in appropriately themed murder machines tried to… well murder each other. But the one who really stuck out among the contestants was the poster boy for the series Sweet-tooth. Sweet-tooth like everyone else on this list is a clown. But what makes him stand out from his peers is his tricked out rocket launching ice cream van, his polka dotted pants and the actual flames of hell replacing his hair.
