Sarcastic Movie Review: Extraction

Even his name is not very Action heroy (his last name is a tool used for raking leaves). Also it helps that Tyler is at least a foot taller than everyone he fights making it a lot more believable when he beats the hell out of multiple bad guys and of course child soldiers.

I’m not sure if you’re still worthy

Talk the Talk

Now this might be something that annoys only me specifically. But ever so often in Hollywood movies people from different countries with their own languages, still always talk in English. even if they are natives of a different country and are talking to other people who share the same native tongue. It’s something that often removes the immersion from the movie from me as I wonder why they are doing so. Are they practicing they’re English? Do these grown men and women have an English test they want to ace?

These are the questions that keep me up at night. But luckily Extraction instead does the logical thing by letting the people in India and Bangladesh talk to each other in their native tongue and just gave the movie English subtitles.

It has been a long time since I have truly enjoyed an action movie that wasn’t overly stylized like John wick or was a superhero Movie. This on the other hand feels a lot more gritty and real. The tropes that had gotten stale in the modern age of endless content is given new life with a fresh setting and a story driven by emotion rather than revenge. Extraction is definitely worth the watch especially since the cinemas continue to remain closed and empty thanks to the quarantine, and Netflix and other streaming sites remain our only asylum for new movies.
