Amazon’s newest offering the Boys is the latest in a long line of comic book adaptations, but this one comes with quiet a twist. No not what if the superheroes were evil, No no this one is a lot more interesting. The boys ask the ever important question what if the superheroes everyone looked up to where assholes.
The basic philosophy running through the series is ‘Absolute power corrupts absolutely’ and there really isn’t any other show like it, so do watch this amazing offering if for nothing else, just to validate that amazon prime video subscription you took eons ago.
The story follows one Hughie Campbell easily the most boring individual in the world, that is until his girlfriend gets killed by the speedster superhero ‘A-train’ who runs right through her in supersonic speed, turning her into a pile of bloody mush that would make ‘Jigsaw’ hurl.
This incident opens Hughie’s eyes to the possibility that maybe the supes aren’t as clean cut as they present themselves to be. Enter Billy the Butcher the most british man to ever british ya fish an chips lovin Wanka.
Other than being very British and letting a crowbar do most of his talking Billy is also insane, and for reasons of his own wants to bring a beating down on ‘The seven’ earth’s most mightiest heroes of which A-train is a member of along with the most powerful supe in the world evil superman…er I mean Homelander.
JLA: The Justice League of Arrogant pricks
Billy recruits the wee Hughie to his cause and he ends up joining the ‘Boys’ a rag-tag group of misfits out to bring those nasty superheroes down a peg.
