If you’ve played Elden Ring, you already know: the real final boss isn’t any demigod, it’s your patience, your reflexes, and that one panic roll you definitely didn’t mean to do. FromSoftware didn’t just design bosses… they designed personal vendettas.
Here’s a fun (and slightly traumatic) look at five of the hardest boss fights that have humbled Tarnished everywhere:

5. Maliketh, the Black Blade
“Phase 2 is where your confidence goes to die.”
Phase 1 lulls you into a false sense of security. Then Maliketh transforms into a flipping, spinning, anime-speed nightmare who deletes your health bar and reduces your max HP, because regular suffering wasn’t enough.
Dodging him feels like trying to swat a mosquito… if the mosquito had a sword made of death.
4. Godfrey, First Elden Lord

“Respectful warrior turns WWE champion.”
Godfrey starts off as a noble, honorable fighter. You think, “Wow, this is fair!”
Then phase 2 happens, and he decides weapons are overrated. He grabs you, slams you into the ground, and turns the fight into a full-on wrestling match. You didn’t sign up for this you signed up for swords, not suplexes.
3. Dragonlord Placidusax
“Ancient dragon with a PhD in teleportation.”
Just when you think you understand dragon fights, this guy disappears into a thunderstorm and reappears behind you like a horror movie villain. The arena feels epic… until lightning starts striking like it has a personal grudge.
Also, two heads. Because one wasn’t stressful enough.
2. Malenia, Blade of Miquella

“I hope you like healing… just not for yourself.”
Malenia doesn’t just defeat you, she steals your lunch money and heals while doing it. Every hit she lands refills her health bar, which feels less like a mechanic and more like emotional damage.
And then there’s Waterfowl Dance, a move so terrifying it has probably caused more controller drops than actual gravity. You’ll spend half the fight thinking, “I’ve got this!” and the other half watching your Health evaporate like your hopes….
1. Radagon of the Golden Order and the Elden Beast
“Two-for-one deal, no refunds.”
Just when you beat Radagon and think, “Finally, peace,” the game says, “Surprise!” and throws a cosmic space noodle at you.
The Elden Beast swims around like it’s late for an appointment, launching holy lasers and making you run a marathon just to land one hit. It’s less a boss fight and more a cardio session with consequences.
These bosses aren’t just difficult, they’re memorable. Each one pushes you to adapt, learn, and occasionally question your life choices. But that’s the magic of Elden Ring: every brutal defeat makes victory feel legendary.
And hey, if all else fails… there’s always summoning help. No shame…(git gud scrub)
