Anime villains are known for their elaborate schemes, world domination fantasies, and questionable life choices. But some take things to an entirely different level. Whether they’re trying to destroy the universe, reshape humanity, or just satisfy their own egos, these villains have plans that make absolutely no sense.
Here are five anime villains whose evil plans were so ridiculous that you have to wonder how anyone took them seriously.
Shou Tucker (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Some anime villains want to conquer the world. Others want to destroy humanity. Shou Tucker just wanted to keep his job.
As a State Alchemist, Tucker was under enormous pressure to produce impressive research. Unfortunately, his previous achievements weren’t enough to secure his position. So he decided to conduct an experiment that would make even the most unscrupulous scientist reconsider his career choices.
He used alchemy to fuse his young daughter, Nina, with their family dog, Alexander, creating a talking chimera. It was an absolutely horrifying act committed for the sake of professional advancement.
Tucker’s plan wasn’t particularly ambitious, but it was certainly one of the most despicable schemes in anime history. He managed to turn a relatively ordinary career problem into one of the most disturbing moments in all of Anime.
Gendo Ikari – Neon Genesis Evangelion
Evil Plan: Reunite With His Dead Wife by Triggering the Apocalypse
Most people deal with grief by seeking therapy, spending time with friends, or occasionally adopting a pet. Gendo Ikari, however, decided that triggering the end of the world was a perfectly reasonable way to reunite with his deceased wife.
His elaborate plan involved the Human Instrumentality Project, a scheme designed to merge humanity into a single collective existence. By manipulating powerful organizations, sacrificing countless lives, and exploiting his own son, Gendo hoped to achieve his personal goal.
The entire thing was essentially an incredibly complicated cosmic divorce from reality. Instead of accepting his wife’s death, Gendo decided that the entire human race should undergo a supernatural transformation.
To make matters worse, he spent much of the series treating his son like an expendable tool. Father of the year, everyone!
Zeref Dragneel (Fairy Tail)
Evil Plan: Become So Powerful That He Can Finally Die
Zeref’s evil plan is basically the magical equivalent of wanting to delete your own save file.
After becoming cursed with immortality, Zeref spends centuries searching for a way to finally die. His solution? Create an army of demons, manipulate kingdoms, unleash apocalyptic magic, and eventually use the power of the Dragon Slayers to rewrite reality itself.
