Top 5 new TV series to watch in 2017

Tired of watching Friends for the three hundredth time, the new season of game of thrones not coming nearly fast enough. Need a new series to keep you distracted from the levels of eye rolling stupidity surrounding you, well maybe you should try one of these new ones for your fix instead:

Westworld

Do you like old westerns? Then you’ll love Westworld. Do you don’t really care much for westerns? You’ll still love Westworld. Though one of the older entries on the list, it might just be the best. Now I was never one to be too interested in cowboys and the old west which is why when I initially heard about the premise of the show I wasn’t too excited. But boy was I wrong not to be, the show is near addictive from the first episode. The wild west theme park setting acts as merely a cover for discussing themes of philosophy and humanity that would do Socrates proud.

Taboo

Just from its name alone one should be able to deduce that the series is not going to involve puppies and unicorns. But what it is the story of the shipping magnet James Delaney in the eighteenth century. Now if that doesn’t seem exciting to you(which it probably doesn’t) maybe it’s worth mentioning that the series also involves Black magic, kinky sex and some pretty gruesome murders. Thought the show is a bit slow paced at times the pay offs are well worth the wait. In short Taboo is like the love child of Peak blinders and Breaking bad that has a striking resemblance to Bane from the Nolan’s batman as Delaney is played by none other Tom Hardy himself.
