5 Ork Clans in Warhammer 40K That Deserve More Attention (and Dakka)

Speed Freeks don’t ask where they’re going. They Only ask How fast.

4. The Digganob: Archaeologist Orks ?

The Digganob culture is one of the wonderfully strange corners of Ork lore.

These Orks developed around ancient ruins and scavenged technology, adapting to environments very different from the usual WAAAGH!

Their society mixed traditional Orky violence with archaeological scavenging.Of course, Orks don’t really do archaeology in the conventional sense. An Imperial archaeologist carefully excavates an ancient ruin.

An Ork archaeologist hits the ancient ruin with a hammer until something useful falls out.

The Digganob prove that no matter where you put an Ork, they will eventually discover the three most important things in existence is going to be finding something to fight, loot and add more Dakka to.

5. Madboyz: The Even Crazier Orks

Calling an Ork “mad” is a bit like calling a Tyranid “hungry.” It doesn’t exactly narrow things down. But Madboyz are genuinely strange even by Ork standards.

These unusual Green-skins suffer from unpredictable behavioural changes and bizarre personalities. One moment they might act like normal Orks, and the next they could become obsessed with strange ideas or behave in completely unexpected ways.

For an Ork army, unpredictability is usually a feature not a bug.

After all, a Madboy suddenly deciding that he is an expert tactician, a terrifying beast hunter or perhaps a particularly angry Space Marine isn’t necessarily going to stop him from fighting. If anything, it might make him fightier.

Because the Orks with a bit of a bipolar personality is just what the galaxy needed.

There’s Always Another Waaagh!

The beauty of Ork lore is that the famous clans are only the beginning. Across the galaxy, isolated tribes, pirate crews, feral warbands and bizarre greenskin cultures are constantly evolving into something wonderfully violent and stupid.

Orks don’t need a complicated philosophy, just one that leads to good scrap.
