5 Resident Evil Villains Who Just Needed better Hobbies

The Resident Evil universe has no shortage of people who could have simply gotten a normal job. Instead, they looked at biology, ethics, and basic human decency and thought, Nah, let’s make a giant mutant.

From billion-dollar pharmaceutical conspiracies to men who apparently consider turning into a giant eyeball a reasonable career move, these villains have demonstrated one important thing: having too much free time is dangerous.

1. Albert Wesker

Albert Wesker didn’t just want power. He wanted to look incredibly cool while obtaining it. This guy made being dramatic a full-time job

Whether he’s betraying his colleagues, manipulating corporations, collecting viruses, or casually walking away from explosions, Wesker somehow always has time for another evil scheme. The man spent years setting up elaborate plans that could probably have been solved with one reasonably competent meeting.

And then there’s the sunglasses. Wesker apparently decided that every conversation needed to look like the final scene of an action movie. Even indoors. Even at night. Especially at night.

His grand plan eventually involves infecting the world with a super-virus and creating a new human race. Because apparently get a promotion wasn’t ambitious enough.

For someone constantly complaining about inferior humans, Wesker certainly spent a lot of time dealing with them, instead of maybe picking up improve or acting classes

The man definitely has the dramatic flair for it.

2. Alex Wesker

Alex Wesker had access to wealth, technology and enough resources to live an extremely comfortable life. She’s a Billionaire that cold just retire.

But she decided immortality was more interesting.

Her plan involved experiments, consciousness transfer, psychological manipulation, and enough unethical science to make every research ethics committee on Earth spontaneously combust.

Alex’s big idea was essentially: “What if I could cheat death by putting my mind into another person?”

A normal billionaire might buy a yacht. But Alex Wesker built a secret island and turned human beings into experimental subjects.

She also spent years developing elaborate plans involving Natalia Korda, because apparently simply writing a will wasn’t sufficiently exciting. The really impressive part is how much preparation went into everything.

Honestly, she could have just taken up gardening instead.

3. Osmund Saddler

Osmund Saddler had a pretty straightforward goal: take over the world using a parasitic organism.

The complicated part was everything he did to get there. Instead of simply trying to be a regular dictator, Saddler established an entire religious cult, recruited followers, developed parasites, kidnapped Ashley Graham (The US presidents daughter), and turned rural Spain into what can only be described as the world’s worst workplace.

His followers aren’t exactly attending peaceful Sunday services either. They’re running around with weapons, chanting incoherently, and occasionally transforming into horrifying monsters.

That’s a lot of commitment to a management strategy. At some point, you’d think he’d delegate. The man is personally overseeing his evil operation while simultaneously running a cult.

But no, Saddler even has enough time to personally monologue at Leon S. Kennedy.

That’s not world domination. That’s micromanagement. The man should have just picked up playing Board games like Risk or Catan instead.
