5 Vampire Survivors Clones That Are Actually Worth Playing

Warhammer 40,000: Survivor

If Vampire Survivors isn’t violent enough for you, apparently the solution is Warhammer 40,000.

Warhammer 40,000: Survivor throws you into the grimdark universe where hordes of enemies are replaced with the kinds of monsters that normally require an entire squad of heavily armed soldiers.

The formula remains familiar: survive waves, collect upgrades, build ridiculous weapons, and turn the battlefield into a mountain of corpses.

It’s basically Vampire Survivors after discovering an unhealthy obsession with the Imperium.

Why play it: Vampire survivors for a Warhammer 40K fan. Since we’ve all already played Spacemarine 2.

Death Must Die

The name pretty much tells you the objective: Kill Death.

Death Must Die combines bullet heaven gameplay with action-RPG mechanics, giving you plenty of loot, abilities, and character builds to experiment with.

The blessing system is particularly fun, allowing you to stack effects until your character becomes an unstoppable murder machine.

And when hundreds of enemies are surrounding you, being an unstoppable murder machine is generally considered a good thing.

Why play it: Excellent loot and build variety with a strong RPG twist.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Take Vampire Survivors, add Dwarves, throw them into space, and unleash an unreasonable number of bugs. That’s Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor.

You explore dangerous caves, collect resources, complete objectives, and gradually turn your dwarf into a walking arsenal.

The mining mechanics and class-based gameplay give it enough personality to stand apart from the many other Vampire Survivors imitators.

Also, watching a dwarf obliterate an entire swarm of bugs is exactly as satisfying as it sounds.

Why play it: Dwarves, guns, mining, and thousands of bugs. Did I mention Dwarves? Who Doesn’t like Dwarves?

Vampire Survivors may have started the bullet-heaven craze, but these games prove the formula has plenty of life left in it. Whether you want tactical builds, ridiculous weapons, Warhammer-sized carnage, or just a potato with guns, there’s something here to keep your next gaming session dangerously addictive.
