There was a time when video games demanded reflexes, strategy, complicated button combinations, and occasionally the ability to read an entire instruction manual.
Then Vampire Survivors showed up and basically said: What if you just walked around and let the weapons do everything? Somehow, it worked.
The bullet-heaven rogue-lite exploded in popularity and spawned an army of games inspired by its formula. You walk around, enemies swarm you by the thousands, your character automatically attacks, and every few minutes you become so ridiculously powerful that the screen starts looking like a fireworks display.
But with hundreds of imitators out there, which ones are actually worth your time?

God of Weapons.
Instead of simply picking upgrades, you’re constantly managing your limited inventory space and deciding which weapons and items deserve a precious slot.
The result is a surprisingly addictive mix of combat and Resident evil 4 like organization. Finding a powerful weapon is great, but figuring out where the hell you’re going to put it is another problem entirely.
The combat is fast, chaotic, and gets increasingly ridiculous as your build comes together.
Why play it: Great build variety with an addictive inventory-management twist.
Brotato
You’re a potato.
You’re surrounded by aliens.
You have guns.
Let’s F***ing Go!
Honestly, Brotato doesn’t need much more explanation.
It takes the Vampire Survivors formula and focuses heavily on weapons, character builds, and short runs. You can equip multiple weapons and create increasingly ridiculous combinations as the waves become more chaotic.
The runs are quick, making it dangerously easy to say, “I’ll just do one more.”
Why play it: Fast runs, ridiculous builds, and weapon combinations that get completely out of hand. Also Potato.
