5 Unbelievable Things Wolverine Has Ever Survived (that he shouldn’t have)

Being Turned Into an Adamantium Statue

Having adamantium bones sounds cool until you remember that adamantium is basically Marvel’s answer to “What if metal was incredibly difficult to deal with?”

Wolverine has been trapped or immobilized by the stuff, turning his greatest advantage into a very expensive set of handcuffs.

For a normal person, being turned into a metal statue would be the end of the story. Wolverine, naturally, treats it as another temporary inconvenience.

At this point, Wolverine’s relationship with adamantium feels less like a superpower and more like a toxic relationship he keeps refusing to leave

Surviving a Nuke

Wolverine has survived a nuclear explosion, which is impressive considering a nuclear bomb is generally considered one of those things you don’t recover from. In one particularly memorable story, Logan is caught in a nuclear blast and his body is essentially reduced to an Adamantium skeleton.

Wolverine, however has a healing factor that apparently, given enough time, makes his flesh grows back around the skeleton. It’s less regeneration and more biological 3D printing.

The only real downside is that Wolverine still has to experience the explosion. His healing factor doesn’t seem to include an option for skipping the part where everything hurts horribly.

Conclusion

Wolverine has survived explosions, dismemberment, fire, metal poisoning, and enough physical trauma to make a normal person’s skeleton file for early retirement. His healing factor may be one of the coolest abilities in comics, but it also means Logan can keep making terrible decisions with absolutely no regard for his own mortality.

At this point, Wolverine isn’t impossible to kill. He’s just extremely committed to making death regret trying.
